The TOUGHBOOK S1 is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon 660 Octa-Core Processor and 468 RAM which can easily cope with the most demanding software and large files. The standard configuration provides 64GB storage.
The Android 10 unit has a 7-inch screen, making it suitable for single handed use. The glove-enabled capacitive touchscreen IPS colour LCD display can be read out in the field just as well as in the office.
For those workers needing a camera, the TOUGHBOOK S1 has a 5 MP front camera and 13M rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. There’s also a handy gadget port for a barcode reader and USB-Type A Port. Device sensors include acceleration, ambient light, digital compass, and gyro. Bluetooth™ Version 5.0 Class 1 is available and mobile broadband options include 4G LTE and 3G. The device is secured with the dependable ARM® TrustZone®.
The TOUGHBOOK S1 is designed to keep on working right through a long shift and into the next with a simple click and switch design for warm swapping batteries. The standard battery has a life of up to 8 hours, while the optional long life battery can operate for up to 14 hours on a single charge.
Without any gadgets, the dimensions of the device are 193mm x 131mm x 22.9mm and weighs a comfortable 505g (WiFi) or 514g (4G).
Rugged Capacity
Working outdoors in potentially tough conditions, the TOUGHBOOK has been made to be drop resistant to a minimum of 1.5 metres and has a MIL-STD 810G certification. The IP65 rating means it’s water and dust resistant, suitable for most field work. The operating temperature range is -20°C to 50°C.
