The TC501 runs on Qualcomm's Dragonwing™ Q-6690 processor with speeds up to 2.9 GHz, featuring a dedicated on-device AI processing engine that delivers a 300% performance increase over previous TC5 generations while lowering active power draw. Enterprise memory options include 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 flash storage, or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 flash storage, alongside an external microSD slot supporting up to 2TB for offline databases and route manifests. Operating on Android with Zebra LifeGuard™ support, the hardware includes Android Strongbox with a Secure Element IC (FIPS 140-3 Validated and Common Criteria ISO 15408 certified) to safeguard business data and manage device lifecycles through standard EMM platforms.
Display and Input Design
Workflows are displayed on a 6.0-inch Full High Definition+ (2160 x 1080) AMOLED panel offering 20% more viewable area than earlier TC5 models. Calibrated for outdoor visibility, the screen outputs 600 nits typical brightness, 1,000 nits in High Brightness Mode, and up to 1,500 nits peak brightness. The display is optically bonded and shielded with Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus®. The capacitive touch panel supports bare-finger operation, heavy work gloves, a passive stylus, and water droplet rejection to maintain touch accuracy in wet weather.

Network options cover 5G Release 17 Sub-6 GHz (SA and NSA) and 4G LTE, including Band 28 (700 MHz) for long-range regional transport coverage across Australia, alongside private 5G and CBRS networks (Dual SIM: 1x Nano-SIM + Dual eSIM). On-site wireless networking uses tri-band Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be/ax/ac/n/a/g/b) with Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 802.11r fast roaming for uninterrupted coverage across large warehousing yards. Local pairing is supported by Bluetooth 6.0 Class 1 and 2, while fleet dispatch is guided by triple-band concurrent GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS). Options include a standard 5,000 mAh (19.45 Wh) battery, an extended 7,240 mAh (28.16 Wh) battery for long shifts, or an inductive 5,000 mAh (19.45 Wh) wireless charging battery. True Hot-Swap capability allows field workers to swap batteries mid-shift without closing applications or dropping network links. Fast-charging options bring a depleted standard battery from 0% to 70% in approximately 45 minutes via desktop cradles, multi-bay depot ShareCradles, or vehicle active docks.

Rugged Durability
The TC501 meets MIL-STD-810H environmental standards and holds dual IP65 and IP68 sealing certifications per IEC 60529, sealing internal components against fine dust and continuous water immersion. The bare unit withstands repeated 1.83-metre (6-foot) drops to concrete across operating temperatures from -20°C to +50°C, and 2.44-metre (8-foot) drops at room temperature. With the snap-on rugged boot installed, drop resistance reaches 2.13 metres (7 feet) across temperature extremes and up to 2.74 metres (9 feet) to concrete. Tumble endurance is rated for 2,000 consecutive 0.5-metre (1.6-foot) tumbles without a boot, and 2,000 consecutive 1.0-metre (3.3-foot) tumbles with the rugged boot. Environmental tolerances include thermal shock transitions, storage temperatures from -40°C to +70°C, relative humidity from 5% to 95% non-condensing, and electrostatic discharge protection rated at ±15 kV air, ±8 kV direct, and ±8 kV indirect contact. The AMOLED screen and scan exit window are protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® to prevent surface abrasion from mineral dust and handling impacts.
