    Zebra RS5000 RS5000

The Zebra RS5000 is a compact, rugged, corded ring scanner designed to maximize productivity in warehouse, manufacturing, and logistics operations. Worn on a single finger, it offers hands-free scanning with point-and-shoot simplicity, capturing 1D and 2D barcodes in virtually any condition. Built to withstand extreme environments including freezers and subzero temperatures, the RS5000 pairs with Zebra wearable computers like the WT6000 to deliver a powerful, lightweight, and ergonomic scanning solution that boosts efficiency across high-volume workflows.

    Performance and Processing Power

The RS5000 features Zebra’s proprietary PRZM Intelligent Imaging technology for high-speed decoding, even on damaged or poorly printed barcodes. With a wide working range—from near contact up to 63.5 cm (25 in.)—it handles everything from close-in product labels to bulk storage scans. Its omni-directional scanning and fast processing speed reduce training time and improve cycle times in mission-critical applications.

    Display and Input Design

The RS5000 does not include a display but features a two-color LED (red/green) for scan status and a manual ambidextrous scan trigger. The ring scanner is designed for comfortable left- or right-hand operation and features a separate, swappable finger strap to improve hygiene and worker personalization.

    Connectivity and Expansion

This is a corded-only device, available in:

    • Short or long cable versions for WT6400
    • Short cable version for WT41N0

It connects via Zebra’s proprietary ports, making it incompatible with newer devices like the WT5400which only support Bluetooth scanners, such as the Zebra RS5100

    Battery Life and Charging

The RS5000 is powered directly from the wearable computer via its corded connection—no separate battery is required, eliminating the need for charging management and reducing weight.

    Security and Data Protection

As a peripheral, the RS5000 does not store or process data independently. It inherits all data security controls from the host Zebra wearable device, ensuring consistent enterprise-grade security protocols.

    Usability

Weighing just 76 g (short cable version), the RS5000 is ideal for:

    • Warehousing & Distribution – Voice picking, inventory, put-away

    • Manufacturing – Parts tracking, replenishment

    • Transportation & Logistics – Sorting and loading workflows

    • Retail Back-of-Store – Receiving, inventory restocking

    Rugged Durability

    Designed for harsh environments:

    • Drop tested: Multiple 1.2 m drops to concrete across full temp range

    • Tumble tested: 1,000 tumbles at 0.5 m

    • Sealing: IP65

    • Operating Temp: -30°C to +50°C (subzero/freezer-ready)

    • Freezer-compatible, waterproof, and vibration-resistant
