Zone 1 Hazardous Area Operations
The Tab-Ex 02 is one of the few rugged devices that is Zone 1 hazardous area approved.
An ATEX Zone 1 area is defined as a location that contains a combination of air and/or flammable substances such as gas, vapours or mists that can lead to unexpected explosions or fires during work operations. This is the regarded as the most dangerous and hazardous work environment to operate machinery and devices.
The ultra-rugged tablet has also has ATEX, IECEX and CSA/NEC certification for use in explosive work environments.

It has a wet and touch glove mode that keeps you working just about anywhere - a handy feature for this waterproof device. Its precise 0.7mm stylus pen is capable of detecting all sorts of pressure, no matter how soft or hard. This is a powerful tablet with a Octa core 1.6 Ghz processor, 3.0GB of memory with 16GB internal storage and an SD slot for up to an additional 256GB of internal storage.
Robust Device with IP68 and MIL-STD-810G Standards
The Ecom Tab-Ex 02 Tablet is built to the highest ultra-rugged standards. For a device to be deemed a rugged device it must meet strict MIL-STD-810G tests. These tests put the device through a series of rigorous exercises to ensure they can meet the most demanding work conditions on the planet.
For example, this tablet is drop-tested 26 times from a height of 1.2 metres. The device must show no signs of damage or malfunction after these drops before it can receive MIL-STD-810G certification. The standards also include tests to survive extreme temperature changes, shocks, vibrations, and heavy exposure to fog and salt. Very few devices have both MIL-STD-810G and IP68 certification, but the Ecom Tab-Ex tablet is one of them.
IP68 certification is the highest rating a rugged device can achieve for being dust and waterproof. Many rugged devices are water resistant but not waterproof. This device is capable of being fully submerged in water for a depth of more than 1 meter, making this device virtually unbreakable.
