mobile 4g connectivity amplifier in remote areas

Working remotely has its challenges. It often involves long hours, harsh conditions and frustration with difficulties connecting to 4G. But there are ways to improve your connectivity to make the remote areas a little less difficult to deal with.

Introducing Cel-Fi GO Mobile

Cel-Fi GO Mobile is one of the most versatile cellular coverage solutions available on the market. Cel-Fi GO works by receiving the network signal, amplifying and re-transmitting it within the vehicle’s vicinity.

The phone receives the boosted signal from the GO to improve voice and internet connectivity. Cel-Fi Go Mobile is the first mobile cellular coverage solution to feature industry-leading 70 dB of system gain.

There are several benefits from installing Cel-Fi Mobile, not just improving mobile coverage. The Cel-Fi GO can amplify the signal and increase data speeds by four times providing you with access to email, internet, video and social networking.

When the phone’s signal is weak or there’s interference nearby, the quality of a voice call is often poor. Cel-Fi GO Mobile makes the voice sound much clearer for both the caller and receiver.

Cel-Fi GO uses nanotechnology to produce a thin film coating to protect the unit from harsh conditions both indoors and outdoors.

Cel-Fi is carrier specific, so choose the one that connects to the mobile network you’re using. Cel-Fi Go works in vehicles, trucks, boats, farm machinery and caravans.

Downloading Cel-Fi GO

Once you have installed the booster, download the WAVE app, then follow the setup and registration instructions. The Quick Start Guide is also available to assist.

You may also request access to the Cel-Fi WAVE portal if you’re in the purchase process or have received systems. The portal provides an administrator with dashboard interface and remote management capabilities for commissioning or monitoring Cel-Fi QUATRA systems.

Steps to Set-up

  1. Install the Donor Antenna
  2. Install the Server Antenna
  3. Mount Cel-Fi GO
  4. Connect the two antennas to the Cel-Fi GO
  5. Plug in the Cel-Fi GO

A new antenna is needed and should be installed by a reseller like Roaming Technologies who has completed product training. A longer antenna fitted to the tow-bar can further improve the chance of getting a signal in very remote areas and let you connect to the Cel-Fi when further away from your vehicle.

Cel-Fi WAVE Platform

Cel-Fi WAVE is a cloud-based platform that hosts and drives apps and connected capabilities.

Current generation Cel-Fi products have embedded connectivity technology that allows for communication with the WAVE cloud.

The WAVE portal is for facilitating registration, commissioning, installation and optimisation and troubleshooting.

Features of the Portal include:

  • An overview dashboard of all your systems

  • Management and monitoring of devices

  • Real-time data and performance metrics

  • Management of software updates

  • Management of users and groups

  • Text and email notifications

  • Alarm policies

  • Commissioning new systems

  • Carrier-grade security

FAQs about Cel-Fi Go Solutions

What are the other options to Cel-Fi?

Cel-Fi Go is the only mobile phone repeater approved by all mobile carriers, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone, in Australia.

Can I use a mobile phone booster?

Mobile phone boosters and repeaters can interfere with the functioning of the mobile network. Repeater devices transmit or re-transmit in the cellular frequency bands and only mobile network operators are licensed to use this equipment. Installing or using a repeater device without a licence is a criminal offence.

What else can I do to improve my mobile phone signal in a remote area?

Moving to a higher position away from obstacles can often improve your signal, and trying different areas of a building can also work. Try removing the protective case from the phone, ensure the battery life is at least 25% and position your hand, so it’s not blocking the internal antenna.

Do I need a surge protector?

It’s recommended that you use a surge protector on Cel-Fi Pro and GO Stationary devices and a UPS unit to power the repeater if the mains power fails or the generator is off. The protector can power a desktop computer for 15 minutes and a Cel-Fi repeater for longer.

What is Cel-Fi GO Stationary?

Just because you’re not on the go, doesn’t mean you won’t run into connectivity issues. Cel-Fi GO Stationary is designed to improve cellular coverage in difficult places, such as structures with thick walls and locations built with cellular blocking materials. Cel-Fi Stationery is the first carrier/class indoor/outdoor cellular coverage solution to feature 100 dB system gain and Nextivity’s network safe guarantee.

Which antenna do I need to buy?

The antenna you need will depend on where you intend to use the Cel-Fi GO. Speak to one of the experts at Roaming Technologies today and discuss which antenna would be best suited for your line of work.
