Aegex Technologies’ aegex10™ tablet includes a range of features that work together to make the device an advanced, efficient, lightweight and rugged solution that has been built specifically for Zone 1 hazardous sites.
Technology
The aegex10™ tablet is powered by the Intel® Quad-Core Atom processor. With a Microsoft Windows operating system, users have access to hundreds of business apps for the most productive workday. This tablet comes with 128GB of storage and 4GB RAM.
You’ll get up to 12 hours of continuous web browsing on the aegex10™ tablet from one full charge, but there are things you can do to help prolong your tablet battery life in the field.
The aegex10™ tablet can be connected to 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS for real-time communications.
Operating Temperature and Display
Aegex Technologies’ aegex10™ tablet can operate at its best between the temperatures of -10ºC and 50ºC, making it suitable for use in most Australian environments. The tablet features a 10.1” Advanced Hyper-Viewing Angle (or AHVA) Full HD Plus screen.
The screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 with capacitive touch, meaning you can interact with the display and control the tablet using either your finger (bare or with touchscreen gloves) or a specialised device such as a stylus. Furthermore, the contrast ratio of the aegex10™ is 800:1, with a screen viewing angle (up/down, left/right) of 170°.
Device Security
Anti-theft security features work to keep the aegex10™ tablet safe. The sensors available on the tablet include the ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, E-Compass, and SAR proximity sensor.
Certified Intrinsically Safe
Certified with global certifications ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 and Class I, II, III Division 1, the aegex10™ is incapable of igniting a spark. Zone 1/Class 1 are sites where flammable gases or vapors are present in the air in quantities sufficient to produce explosive or ignitable mixtures. Division 1 refers to areas with an ignitable concentration of flammable gases, vapors or liquids existing all of the time or some of the time under normal operating conditions. The device has the highest standards of safety for Zone 1 sites, making it an ideal device for most hazardous sites.
Rated IP65, the tablet is protected from dust ingress and jets of water sprayed from any angle.

For workers who need to stay hands-free, there is a shoulder harness that allows you to keep the tablet on your body or, if you prefer, a leather carry case. An anti-glare screen protector makes it easy to work in all light conditions. There’s also a charging and docking station, if required plus a range of third party accessory mounts and arms.
