The Galaxy XCover Pro has good photographic capabilities with two rear-facing cameras including an 8 megapixel (MP) ultrawide camera and a 25MP main camera. It has a 4.0x zoom and FHD (1920x1080) video resolution with stabilisation. The front facing camera is 13MP to take clear photos inside and out. An LED Torch Light can brighten low light scenes.
The 6.3 inch infinity screen device has a ruggedised surround but still weighs just 218g and is only slightly thicker than its Samsung consumer cousins.
Samsung Knox is a multi-layered security system built into the phone’s hardware and software to protect sensitive information from malware and malicious threats.
For added security there is a fingerprint reader integrated into the power on button. Other sensors on the phone include an Accelerometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Virtual Light Sensing.

The XCover Pro meets MIL-STD 810G standards and is rated to IP68 meaning it’s resistant to sand, dust and dirt. It’s also tested to survive 30 minutes immersed in 1.5 metres of water. The drop test is from a height of 1.2 metres on to plywood.
The device can handle extreme weather conditions including high humidity and altitude. Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 covers the screen and can be used in glove mode so there’s no need to remove any type of glove while using the device.
Internet usage time is up to 14 hours, audio playback is up to 92 hours and up to 29 hours of talk time. The removable back cover means that you can gain access to the SIM card slot, microSD card and replace the 4050 mAh battery when you’re out in the field, away from a power source.
