GETAC was established in 1989 as a joint venture between Mitac and General Electric (GE) Aerospace Group, with the primary mission to supply defence electronic equipment to military related applications. In 1995 they started offering leading-edge, military-standard, rugged computers and tablets to all commercial field force applications such as: Public Safety, Utility, Transportation, Telecommunication, Construction, Mining, and other related industries.
