The DURABOOK S15ST2 is a slim, ruggedized laptop with desktop performance. The system comes standard with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4Ghz processor utilizing Centrino technology, which is great for users who require 4+ hour battery life. If you are looking at semi rugged laptops and are interested in a high-performance machine that is rugged enough for most applications, then look no further.  The unit has been field-tested for vibration and drops against the MilSpec 810F standards. Ruggedized features include a spill resistant keyboard and foam rubber protection around the hard disk.

The DURABOOK S15ST2 is a large-display ruggedized notebook with a 15.4” wide screen display and offers storage capacity of 160GB. It brings an innovative design and a wealth of productivity features to its users - with dedicated graphics, FireWire IEEE 1394 and an S-Video TV out port, enhancing the total computing experience. No detail was overlooked ruggedizing this unit. Ruggedized features include a spill proof keyboard, foam rubber protection around the hard disk and military-compliant magnesium casing behind the 15.4” display screen to help protect the system from vibration and drop.

The DURABOOK S15ST2 has advanced features such as an optical disk lock which prevents accidental ejections from drops and vibrations. There is also an anti-shock mounted hdd, which also utilizes a flexible cable design to absorb shock and vibration preventing data loss and double protection smart-circuitry design has been implemented in the battery to prevent damage from overheating or voltage surges.
