Voluntary SPOT2 recall
Globalstar have decided to voluntarily recall the new SPOT 2 Satellite Messengers.
The devices appear to have an inconsistent problem with the LED lamp indicating low battery levels prematurely. In addition there has been a report that some SPOT 2 devices have spontaneously triggered the SOS message under certain unusual conditions. There is no suggestion that the SPOT 2 device performance is degraded in any way.
Roaming Technologies will not be supplying the SPOT2 messenger until the fault has been rectified. We expect this fault to be rectified with new stock, early in 2010, but have no firm date at this stage.
